Thursday 11/24 (Thanksgiving):
Okay, so I've fallen a bit behind in these logs and
have been neglecting y'all. Sorry. Things have been really super
busy in my life lately - but it's been good. I've still been taking
some pictures anyway and will fill in some of the missing areas
later. It seems they should go in the spots they happened in, rather
than when I'm posting them, so I'll be adding stuff in the past.
I think it will make more sense that way.
Speaking of the past, this post is being written on
Friday.. heh, what do ya' know?
Karen from the VegSource Board and H&F Camp is
visiting here for a few months - WOOFing it and all. It's been great
to spend time together when I have the chance. We went to the farmer's
market together on Saturday and I decided to have a raw Thanksgiving
potluck and invited her and another friend I saw at market. The
only thing was, I couldn't make up my mind when and were to have
it - all the way until the night before, so I just cancelled it.
They said they might stop by after another Thanksgiving thing that
was going on, but didn't end up doing so. There were a lot of Thanksgiving
parties going on this year. It was nice to just stay home though.
My hubby and I had a really nice and romantic sort of Thanksgiving
and our son came out to watch a movie afterwards. It was perfect.
The only thing is.. I made 2 eggfruit creme pies and only ate 2
pieces, my hubby ate 1 - so there's lots of left overs. We were
enjoying the fruit from the cornucopia so much that we didn't get
to the pies, lol. Perhaps I'll find others to share it with me soon.
Following my raw Thanksgiving tradition, I did a cornucopia
and an apple turkey. My hubby & I made apple turkies together
out of the tiny little apples at the HFS - they have a great taste
too. It was fun and the turkies were sooo cute! :) Unfortunately
I forgot to put the closeup setting on my camera when I took pictures
of the turkies so they all came out blurry. Too bad that little
viewfinder doesn't show if it's blurry or not - too tiny. Oh well,
I'm putting it up anyway.
So, here are some pictures (as usual, you can click
'em to enlarge 'em):
The date crust came out better this time. I think
I've figured out how to get it working better - cool. It's great
in that it makes the pie combine properly natural hygienic food
combining-wise, but it makes for a very sweet pie. A bit much for
me on this day at least. Maybe I'll try some in some lettuce tomorrow.
Here're some pics of the crusts before the filling went in for those
that are interested in that part. :)
Here's one of the date crust one before the decorations...
And here's one of the almond-date crust one before its decorations...
Okay, so that's it for today's post. I'll try to post more
often later. I should be able to do this more regularly by a year from
now, hopefully sooner. So please be patient. Things are pulling together
well, it's just taking time - and lots of my attention.
