Tuesday 1/7: I had chocolate sapote for the first time today. I didn't know it looks like chocolate - thought it was just supposed to taste like it. It looked like fudge brownies or thick chocolate icing (with some fibers) inside. It tasted kind of like unsweetened, no sweeter than that - hmmm, semi-sweet chocolate. Quite interesting. It seems like you could make a great dessert with it and dates blended together - a kind of pudding... or maybe add bananas too. If you added young coco water it'd be a shake... If I end up with a regular supply of them I might experiment. I'm gonna eat 'em plain for now. We only got 2 'cause they were a bit expensive & I didn't know if we'd like them... My hubby liked them too, but wasn't as jazzed about them as I thought he'd be. He did save the seeds & plans to plant them though.
