Diet: heavy fats, lots of fried foods, high salt
alcohol at parties, omnivore, allergic to chocolate & not fond of
sweets, practically living (?) on french fries, taking over the counter
antihistamines from time to time
(bad sinus headaches and hay fever types of allergies daily, slight
asthma)
Sun: Easy to sunburn & had skin rash from combo. of
sun exposure & proximity to freshly cut grass - avoided sun
exposure, didn't wear sunscreens.
Exercise: Sporatic with weights, Kajukenbo for a few
months, occasional walking home from school uphill (usually got ride) -
otherwise none but walking around school or shopping center.
Stress: average
5'1.5" tall, Size 3/4 pants, 30 or 32AA bra, ~92-95 lbs.

29 yrs. old
Diet: vegan Natural Hygenic cooked
(vegetarian 10 yrs., last 7 or 8 vegan, last 4 or 5 NH at this point)
This is right before eating 100% living foods for a couple of years.
fruit for breakfast, raw before cooked lunch/dinner
followed food combining principles 99% of time
soy & grains included, high fat & high salt
Sun: Still easy to sunburn. Didn't wear sunscreens,
wearing sun hat & clothing instead. Hay fever allergies basically
gone. Able to stand in & pull tall grass (not sitting or laying in
it) and around cut grass (but not in it).
Exercise: Gardening with hand tools (no tiller, etc.),
hike in/out of living area, biking for transportation at times (short
distances), walking, etc. - active lifestyle, not sporty or exercise
based
Stress: minimal
5'1.5" tall, Size 3/4 pants, 30 or 32AA bra, ~95 lbs.

August & September 2001
35 yrs. old
(Just after autoimmune disorder diagnosed)
Diet: lacto-ovo-vegetarian +poultry & fish
basically the non-veg. 'healthfood' version of SAD
(not sure exactly how long eating this way - back to cooked vegan for
about a year, then lacto-ovo-vegetarian for another year, then added in
the
poultry for another & fish for a couple more - total of about 5
years
since had been 100% living foods vegan at this point.)
Sun: Still sunburned easily, but avoided sun rather than
wearing protective clothing.
Exercise: practically none
Stress: High stress in life, but surviving okay.
5'1.5" tall, wearing Size 9/10 pants that were too small, 34
or 36A bra, ~130 or 140 lbs.?

February & March 2002
36 yrs. old
Diet: same as 2001,
also taking 81mg enteric-coated aspirin or
6 fish oil capsules daily - reluctantly & infrequently
(due to diagnosis of antiphospholipid antibody syndrome)
I had also added in sugar foods occasionally, like chocolate carmel
pecan 'turtles', vanilla fudge swirl ice cream & apple pie. I was
trying
to eat lots of salmon for the omega fatty acids and all - could only
deal
with it smoked though. My autoimmune condition was worsening - see the
splint on my hand? It's from falling when I was trying to get some
exercise
- got a hematoma so bad in my hand from the fall that I couldn't use
that
hand for a month and needed the splint to use it for another month.
Sun: Very easily sunburnt - more than before.
Exercise: had started walking about a mile or two with
son 3-4 days a week & was working in jog/runs with goal of being
able to run whole way eventually... repeated injuries kept delaying
progress until I decided I should be doing something different than
running for exercise - hadn't come up with anything yet.
Stress: Stress level had gotten to critical level about 2
months before - almost had a nervous breakdown... changed things in
life to reduce one major stress to be able to deal with others...

November 2002
37 yrs. old
Diet: raw vegan since mid-June
20% or less of calories from fat, 10% protein, 70%+ carbs.
Sun: Not as prone to sunburn, not needing to avoid sun as
much.
Exercise: Actually feel like exercising for 1st time in
life - wanting to find excuse to exercise, instead of excuse not to.
Attempting to do something daily, not always making it (scheduling or
detox), still doing knee push-ups or incline ones (with hands on arm of
chair) - see daily logs...
Stress: Stresses in life mainly dealt with.
5'1.5" tall, Size 3/4 pants again!, 30 or 32AA bra, ~105 lbs.

38 yrs. old
Diet: raw vegan ~13 months
20% or less of calories from fat, 10% protein, 70%+carbs.
Sun: Able to be in sun for much longer periods of time, no
need for sunhats anymore!
Exercise: something daily, unless body's doing a
cleanse/detox, can do full push-ups for 1st time in life - up to 21 in
a row now!
Stress: Stresses in life intense, but don't feel
stressed... feel too good to bother.
5'1.5" tall, Size 0/1 pants (or 12/14 kids), 30 or 32AA bra,
100 lbs.
Goals:
Food: follow 10% or less of calories from fat, 10% from
protein, 80% carbs.
(just started this after these photos), grow more of own food
Sun: actually get a suntan & be able to stay out in
mid-day without keeping an eye on the time... but not doing it
regularly
(not best time to be out in it anyway).
Exercise: Gain 20 more pounds of muscle gradually,
getting more and more fit, capable & healthy in the process, while
increasing flexibility, endurance and other abilities. Various little
goals - like being able to do push-ups that you clap inbetween &
one-handed ones....
Stress: re-organize life to eliminate as much as possible.

39 yrs. old
Diet: raw vegan ~ 2 years
10% or less of calories from fat, 10% protein, 80%+carbs.
Sun: can go to the beach for hours without burning when
going at times other than 11am-3pm, and can even go out during
those mid-day times for errands, farmer's markets, socializing,
etc. without hat, sunscreen, etc. - without worry or burn.
Hair & Skin: I unexpectedly now have no need for
shampoos, conditioners, face or body soap anymore - have been
just using water (except for hand soap when pet dog, etc.) for
between 6mos. and a year now. Hair has never been better (shiny,
soft, glows, tangles less & split ends going away), skin's
never been clearer and as luminescent.
Exercise: something daily, unless body's doing a cleanse/detox,
can do full push-ups that hop now (on push-up push quickly with
power so hands and toes leave ground while body stays straight
and tight in push-up position through landing and push down
to start again) - up to 10 in a row now!
Sleep: Not as much as I need, unfortunately been working too
much for the last 5 months or so...
Stress: Stresses in life intense, but don't feel stressed...
feel too good to bother.

Diet: lowfat raw vegan ~ 4years
10% or less of calories from fat, 10% protein, 80%+carbs.
Sun: still good, starting to get a tan (for me)
Hair & Skin: Still great and getting better, still
don't need hair products, soap, etc. Hair has never been better
(shiny, soft, glows, tangles less & split ends going away),
skin's never been clearer and as luminescent.
Exercise: something daily, unless body's doing a cleanse/detox
or I've not gotten enough sleep (one of my main weaknesses
still). Various goals achieved (like doing handstands on grass
away from the wall) and new ones set in place.
Sleep: Not as much as I need, but I'm close to having more
free time!
Stress: Stresses in life getting less intense.
5'1.5" tall, Size 0/1 pants (or 12/14 kids), 30 or 32AA
bra, ~104 lbs.
Goals:
Food: keep following 10% or less of calories from
fat, 10% from protein, 80% carbs., grow more of own food
Sun: get a suntan and have more time for sunshine
Exercise: Gain 5 or 10 more pounds of muscle gradually,
getting more and more fit, capable & healthy in the process,
while increasing flexibility, endurance and other abilities.
Various little goals - like being able to do handstand pushups
better (can't do them at all right now)....
Sleep: Get more on a regular basis
Stress: continue to re-organize life to eliminate
