Farmer's Market
2-16-2005

I got more produce than usual and some special high priced stuff this week.

One of the farmers I get bulk stuff regularly from surprised me with a harvest of chocolate sapotes from a friend's tree! I got all she had, it was 2 cases, heh. They keep as they take a while to ripen and do it not all at once, so it works out. New this market was rolinia - didn't even know it was in season yet. I got a big one too! :-) The jicama was still in full force, so I got some more. It's nice and juicy and sweet. I also got some of the biggest oranges I've ever seen. I got to get an extra stalk of cooking bananas too from people that have them infrequently, so I've got lots of cooking bananas now too!

$1 of Apple Bananas:
I got these from the same people I got the jicama from.

$5.50 of Apple Bananas
I got them for $4 'cause I got them from the same person I got the chocolate sapotes, mangosteen and rambutan from.

$20 of Rambutan
It's actually more than that, but I got it for $20 'cause I got so much other stuff & I get things all the time

$170 for 2 cases of chocolate sapote:
There's a ripe one on the left I and a caimito on the right that are darker. Yeah it's kind of expensive in general, but not for what I got. You usually can't even find them. She threw them in for free, as well as quite a few of the others (and discounted them all quite a bit).

This is $40 of mangosteen
I got two of them ($80) though, but ate the other bag before going home and taking pictures... This is a discounted price on them too. It's an expensive item though.

This is $5 of ladyfinger bananas:
I got them with the cooking bananas in the next --> frame for $20

This is $15 of cooking bananas:
I got them with the ladyfinger bananas in the previous <-- frame for $20

These are the same $15 of cooking bananas in the previous <-- frame pulled out of the box a bit to see how much there is in there...

This is $7 of coconuts:
I got $10 of them actually (which is 10), but my hubby and I drank a few before I took the picture that night. We keep them outside, which is why it's dark.

$10 stalk of cooking bananas:
I didn't get home 'till dark, and we hang 'em outside, which is why it's so dark.

This is $6 of produce:
$1 for the 3 very large oranges
$3 for the large rolinia
$2 for the medium sized jicama
